Mulberry Individual Product Plan Coverage Overview, Benefits and Your Responsibilities

The following is a summary of Mulberry Protection Plans (MPP) for Fellow.

Those terms and conditions are the official statement of coverage, exclusions and limitations, and your responsibilities and rights under the program. 

MPP is not a Contract of Insurance. Mulberry Shield, Inc. issues a service agreement to the consumer.

How do I purchase Mulberry Protection?

MPP is offered in partnership with Fellow through their website. Plans are available for 3 year or 5 year terms, covering mechanical breakdown after the conclusion of the manufacturer's warranty.

How do I activate my Mulberry Protection?

You will receive a welcome email. Please click on the link to create an account. Log in to your dashboard to see your policy and other information.

What is covered?

Mulberry Protection covers manufacturing defects beyond the manufacturer's standard warranty for the duration of the Mulberry Plan contract. It also covers damage from power surges & electrical failures starting from date of plan purchase.

You are covered against:

  • Mechanical/electrical component failures

  • Malfunctions

  • Power Surges

  • Electrical Failures

Here are some examples:

  • Coffee machine won't turn on

  • Electronics are damaged by a power surge while using a surge protector

  • Grinder gears malfunction

  • An outlet malfunction sending irregular voltage, which then damages some internal circuitry

What is not covered?

The following is not covered:

  • Issues with products discovered upon receipt as a result of misrepresentation of the seller and not returned within the marketplace return window.

  • No coverage will apply for any issues occurring within the retailer’s return window that would otherwise qualify for return or exchange under the retailer’s policies.

  • Accidental Damage from handling

  • Malfunction covered by the original manufacturer’s warranty

  • Products used commercially

  • Damage that does not impair the proper performance of your product

  • Damage caused by 3rd parties (including shipping)

  • Damage caused by intentional acts

  • Damage as a result of neglect & misuse & lack of cleaning and care

  • Damage as a result of weather, acts of God, flooding, wind, fire, etc.

  • Loss & Theft are not covered.

  • Damage to the product not occurring from a single incident are not covered.

  • Damages caused in shipping or moving (whether by you or a third party) are not covered.

  • Fraudulent claims are not covered and will result in reporting of an illegal activity.

When is my product covered? 

Your Mulberry Protection begins when you purchase your protection plan. It runs concurrently with the manufacturer warranty from Fellow and extends your coverage to a total of either 3 or 5 years, depending on the plan purchased.

Your manufacturer warranty from Fellow begins when you purchase your product. Fellow new generation electric products carry a standard warranty of 2 years. See Fellow warranty information (https://fellowproducts.com/pages/warranty) for details.

When should I file a claim?

When your product fails due to malfunction after the conclusion of the manufacturer's warranty or whenever an electrical failure or power surge issue comes up.

How do I file a claim?

Go to your Mulberry dashboard, choose the product for which you wish to file a claim, and follow the instructions. You are required to assist Mulberry in its review of your claim and promise not to file fraudulent claims. This includes providing photos and videos of the defective or damaged product. You are required to submit photos.

How much can I claim? 

You can file as many claims as needed, but Mulberry will only be able to cover incidents up to the purchase price.

Are there deductibles or fees?

You will not be required to pay a deductible nor service fee.

Will Mulberry repair or replace my damaged or malfunctioning product?

Depending on the issue with your product, Mulberry will at its sole discretion either repair or replace the products with a similar product of like kind and quality, or you will receive a reimbursement or settlement depending on the extent of the malfunction to the product. It is in Mulberry’s sole discretion as to the method of repair and amount of reimbursement.

Can I add Mulberry Protection after I place my order?

Yes! You can purchase a Mulberry Protection plan within 90 days of purchasing your Fellow product.

If you purchased your product from a third-party retailer (such as Crate & Barrel, Williams Sonoma, Best Buy, your local coffee shop, or Amazon), or if you received it as a gift: You must register your product first. Once registered, you will receive an email with a link to purchase your extended warranty.

Is Mulberry Protection transferable if I sell or gift my product?

Yes, the Mulberry policy is transferrable. At the point someone transfers ownership of their machine, the Fellow manufacturer warranty is void, but the Mulberry warranty would be valid immediately.

To transfer your protection policy, reach out to Mulberry Support at help@getmulberry.com and they will assist with transferring your plan.

Do I file with Fellow or Mulberry during the manufacturer warranty period?

For electrical /power surge related issues at any point, please file with Mulberry.

Can I cancel my Mulberry Protection plan?

Yes, you are able to cancel your Mulberry Protection Plan. If you cancel your plan within 30 days of purchase, you will receive a 100% refund for your plan. To cancel a plan, please reach out to Mulberry Customer Support at help@getmulberry.com. Refunds will be processed to your original form of payment.

Do I need the receipt from my purchase to file a claim? What if I don’t have it?

Yes, you will need receipts or proof of purchase to file a claim. Reach out to the merchant if you need assistance to find your proof of purchase.

What items are eligible for coverage with my plan?

Generally speaking, all durable consumer goods, i.e. a consumer product that does not go away as you use it, is eligible for product protection coverage with a few exclusions (see above coverage details). For price drop and no-fee return protection, almost all consumer goods, both durable and consumable in nature, are covered, with a few exclusions including food/drinks, cars and car parts, tires and wheels, bikes/ebikes, scooters/skateboards, medication, animals, plants, travel costs, event tickets, and commercial products.
